Ding, ding

INT. BOXING RING.

TWO HEAVYWHEIGHT BOXERS (STAN AND EDDY) ARE SQUARING OFF IN THE CENTRE OF THE RING WAITING FOR THE BELL TO RING.

THE REFEREE STANDING BETWEEN THEM STEPS BACK, LOOKS TO THE CORNER AND NODS.

THE BELL RINGS.

STAN PUNCHES EDDY IN THE JAW.

EDDY LOOKS HORRIFIED AND PUTS HIS GLOVED HAND TO HIS JAW.

EDDY:
What was that for?!

REFEREE:
Yeah you big bully! What's he ever done to you?

STAN LOOKS PUZZLED.

STAN:
It's a boxing match!

EDDY:
That's no reason to go around punching people in the face! You could have had my eye out!

REFEREE:
Yeah - I think you should have a time out.

STAN:
What?!

REFEREE: (POINTING TO CORNER)
That's right, go on - off to your corner!

CONFUSED BUT SHAMED, STAN TURNS SHEEPISHLY AND HEADS FOR HIS CORNER.

REFEREE: (CALLING AFTER HIM)
And don't come back until you've thought about what you've done!

THE REFEREE TURNS AND OFFERS SYMPATHY TO EDDY.

FADE OUT.
